Computed Tomography
Course Title: Fundamentals of Computed Tomography
Course Objective: All students will gain a fundamental knowledge of CT physics, instrumentation, image acquisition, safety, patient care, and cross sectional anatomy. Students will gain the knowledge required to safely work with patients and staff in a CT environment. Students with clinical CT experience will become better prepared for the advanced level MRI Certification offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Course Prerequisites: Students must be registered or registry eligible in radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Course Content: Instrumentation, Radiation Safety and Patient Care, Basic Principles, Image Acquisition, Image Artifacts and Corrections, Contrast Agents, and Cross Sectional Anatomy

Course Length: 8 Weeks (Saturdays only, 3 hours each week)

Clinical Instruction: Students completing the IACI CT program are eligible to apply for admission into the clinical training program at Gwinnett Technical College. Our partnership with Gwinnett Technical College has given IACI students access to some of the best clinical sites in Georgia. Gwinnett Technical College requires its own admission process and adittional chages apply.
